Abstract: iridodiagnostics The method of iridology (iridology) has become widespread in the second half of the twentieth century due to the fascination with alternative medicine. The creator of the method is considered I. Pecceli, who, according to legend, created iridology as a method as a teenager. According to him, he caught an owl, breaking its wing, and a spot immediately appeared on its iris. Thus, it was hypothesized that all pathological processes in the body affect the appearance of the iris. This hypothesis has found a large number of followers who position iridology as accurate, non-invasive and reliable.

Method of research.
However, at the beginning of the twentieth century, a number of papers were published that disproved the accuracy of the results of iridology. To achieve the goal, the task was to determine the quantitative and qualitative changes occurring in the iris during and after surgery, as well as one, two and three days after it. Before the operation, photographing the iris of both eyes was performed. Such photographing was also carried out during the operation, immediately after it, 2 hours and a day after the operation, and they also took photographs after two and three days after the operation. As a result of the analysis of 20 series of photographs of the iris, no differences were revealed in the change in the structure, color of the rabbit iris before, during and after the operation. Thus, data for the fact that the iris can change its structure in the case of both superficial and deep mechanical trauma have not been identified. References: 1.
